Aidan Sutherland was raised in the small town of Bernville, Pennsylvania. As a child, he jumped back and forth between private schools and homeschooling until he found his place at the local public school, Tulpehocken Jr/Sr High. Entering as a freshman, he was enthralled by the opportunities that were made available to him at the public school. At Tulpehocken, Aidan’s love of photography led him to the yearbook class, where he fell in love with journalism and design. After his first year in yearbook, he was asked to be the Editor, to which he enthusiastically agreed. In this position, he learned how to be a good leader as he directed a team of eight yearbook members, reviewed and edited spreads, and supervised the preparation, marketing, and distribution of the yearbook. Aidan held his position as yearbook Editor for his sophomore and junior years at Tulpehocken, and then also as a Senior at his new school in Guyton, Georgia (a small town outside of Savannah), where his family moved in 2017.
Seeking out the opportunities available in an urban environment (specifically, proximity to financial centers and the presence of diverse communities), Aidan enrolled at Georgia State University as a Managerial Science major in 2018. However, after taking Perspectives 2002, a course with six units dedicated to different fields in the business world, he found that he was very intrigued by the auditing profession and subsequently changed his major to Accounting. In early 2019, he would become a double-major in Finance and Accounting, after receiving advice from mentors whom he met as a candidate for Panthers on Wall St. in 2019. Aidan’s proudest accomplishments at GSU are being on the President’s List every semester, achieving a perfect score in Principles of Accounting, and becoming a finalist for the Panthers on Wall St. cohort during his freshman year. While he did not get into Panthers on Wall St. that year, in March of 2020, he was selected to be a member of the Panthers in the District cohort, and he is thrilled about the opportunity to be a representative of the Robinson College of Business to firms in D.C.
When Aidan isn’t working hard at school, he is serving at a restaurant in the Atlanta area where he is honing his ability to work in a client-facing role. In his free time, he loves to read the memoirs of influential people, write for his blog, listen to 90’s music (Alanis Morissette, Dave Matthews Band, and Matchbox Twenty are his favorites), and fawn over European cars (particularly Porsches).
